CHILI’s voce: “Within a month 8K docufilm and 4K movies, both in HDR”
We visited CHILI’s new headquarters where the company is experimenting with streaming 8K content on its platform. Kicking off before the end of the year on Samsung TV. Fox movies in 4K HDR also on the way.
8K streaming? We can deal with it, indeed it is about to be done. In fact, Chili, the Italian (but now branched in half of Europe) pay-per-view streaming company, is about to make the first 8K content available on its platform. This was confirmed to us by Stefano Flamia, co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, whom we met at the company’s Milan headquarters: “We don’t have a precise date yet, but it will definitely be before the end of the year.” As pre-announced at the press conference launching Samsung’s 8K TVs, in fact, Chili is preparing to set up an 8K offering, centered at the moment on nonfiction content: “We are starting with a series of documentaries, produced in Italy, whose first episode is about the work of Bernini: this content will also be in HDR”……
